Black Mountain


Location: Nevada, Henderson Area
Elevation : 5,092 ft



Overview...
Black Mountain is located on the South side of Henderson.

This volcanic lava rock mountain is good hiking place in Winter season. In the Summer season, black rock heat up and gets too hot for hiking. The trail head is in residential area and has small parking lot.
The city view from the top is nice especially at night.



Route...
* Black Mountain Trail *

Trail Head is located south side of Henderson.
To get there....From I-215 freeway, take Eastern Ave. South for 3 mile then Anthem Pkwy for 2.4 miles. Make a left turn at Atchley Dr. then make another left turn at Shadow Canyon Dr. The trail head will appear on your left in half mile.
The first half mile is paved road. The trail goes up on one ridge line on the West of Black Mountain Peak. Narrow trail follows on the top of ridge line toward the peak. Its class 1 - 2 trail and getting steeper when it get close to the peak.
