River Mountain Hike

January 4th 2009

River Mountain trail is very good hiking trail for Winter Season due to low elevation.
When we started hiking, Jorge, Ron and Hector went way ahead of the group. Actually Jorge was jogging and I coudn't see him after 15 minutes from the trail head.
When I reached near the bottom of scree slope, I scrambled up the slope. It is the short cut route. But its very steep and slippery. I have done this route once before, so I knew the route.
I didn't make any stop to the peak and made it in 43 minutes. Jorge made it after couple of minutes later. Then Kiwi.
They made it in 48 minutes with following trail. I don't know I can make it in 50 minutes with following trail.
On the way down, I have decided to scramble down instead of boaring trail, but different route that I scrambled up. That slope is bit dangerous for descent route. So, I scrambled down the Gully section that is more rugged.
Tracy wanted scramble down with me, so 2 of us did it. It was short but fun route.
