Hilltop Camp & Hike

August 7th 2009

Paul asked me to come to join camping at Hill Top camp site at Mt.Charleston.
Since I had to work on Friday evening, I got camp site very late, but everyone were still awake and enjoying conversation.
The temperature was not so cold as I expected, since there was no wind up there.
On the 2nd day (Saturday), weather was perfect. It was too perfect and I didn't want to go anywhere in the morning. I planed to check Cockscomb Peak, but canceled it and took a nap at camp site.
After spent few hours doing nothing at camp site, we had decided to go short hike to Deer Creek. Paul, Gary and Malia went up the residensial area to check the cabin.
But I left the group and climb up to the Rain Tree. Because I knew some new Geocache was hidden just couple days ago and nobody found it yet.
It took more than 10 minutes since my old GPS didn't get right cordinate near the Rain Tree since rocky hill side refrect the satelite signal.
After I found geocache, I have decided to descend from Rain Tree direct into Deer Creek. It was steep but easy to follow.
After I got back to the camp site, we started potluck party. I brought sushi ingredients and cooked Sushi.
