Icebox Peak & Bridge Mtn. via Icebox Canyon

January 13th 2012

This hike took one of the best scrambling route I have ever done in Red Rock.
We started from Icebox Canyon, then scramble up the class 4 route up to the Icebox Peak. It took us 1 hour 45 minutes to the peak. From there, we descent into Maze. And follow the canyon for half mile up. Then again, we scrambled up the class 3-4 route to the Bridge Mtn.
There is one super nice redge traverse that connect to the ordinary route. Its an easy class 3 scramble from there to the Bridge Mtn. Peak. We made it in 3.5 hours to the Bridge Mtn. Peak (from trailhead)
After we took a short lunch break, we descent down to the Bridge Vista. There is a class 4-5 route for 200 ft. The class 5 section is about 80 ft. It took us long time to set the anchor and rap down.
The original plan was keep going down the ridge line and bag Bridge Point, then rap down to Holiday Peak, then scramble back down to the trailhead. But, since Red Rock close 5PM, we didn't have enough time to do this way. Thus, we had decided to run down the Pine Creek.
We made it to the bottom of Pine Creek (from Bridge Vista) in 45 minutes and back to the trailhead in 2 hour 20 minutes.
