Summery :

The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is a supersonic multirole fighter aircraft for the US Air Force. Designed as an air superiority day fighter, it evolved into a successful all-weather multirole aircraft. Over 4,500 aircraft have been built since production was approved in 1976.
This F-16A (#79-0343) was assigned to the 428th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 474th Tactical Fighter Wing at Nellis AFB. On December 27th 1982, this aircraft was lead of a two ship mission scheduled for Basic Fighter Maneuvers. Mission was scheduled to include support from Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation.
The flight took off Nellis AFB in formation and proceeded to their assigned airspace. Once established in the area, they engaged in Basic fighter maneuvers, starting initially from beyond visual range. The final engagement was set up within visual range. During the final engagement, this aircraft departed controlled flight.
The pilot ejected successfully. The aircraft impacted the ground and was destroyed.
