Summery :

The Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star is a jet trainer, originally developed as P-80/F-80 adding a second seat, instrumentation and flight controls.
On December 22nd 1965, this T-33A (#53-5956) from Ontario Air National Guard Station was flying as target for two F-102 fighter interceptors. After about 1.5 hours of flight time, it experienced a loud explosion and immediate loss of thrust, followed by several seconds of vibrations and second and final explosion. Three airstarts were failed and it crashed down on steep hill side of Clipper mountains.
The pilot ejected from the aircraft successfully at approximately 20,000 feet.
