Summery :

The F-104N was NASA version of F-104G supersonic intercepter for use as high-speed chase aircraft.
This F-104N (#56-813) was one of three delivered to NASA in 1963.
On June 8, 1966, it was destroyed during a photo shoot when flying in the tight formation was caught in the wake vortex of the XB-70, and pulled into a midair collision. Then burst into flames and crashed.
The pilot Joe Walker was killed in accident. The damaged XB-70 also crashed and killed co-pilot.
